- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 July 2022Size Name: 4 InchVerified PurchaseI was a little sceptical about this device but it has exceeded all expectations, a little tricky to navigate the menu structure (use the supplied cheat sheet and it's a breeze), otherwise it's a great tool with an easy to read display.
The only critical comment I can make is about the charging cable, it's a very cheap usb-c cable and doesn't work one way round, I use a higher quality cable and have no problems with it.

Plenty of user videos on YouTube. I highly recommend the product, great value for the price, clear display screen. Really glad I went for the H4 version.
If your into ham radio or even helium mining and think your antennas tuned, use this device and it will give you an accurate reading, I never rely on the manufacturers spec and always test.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 February 2023Size Name: 4 InchVerified PurchaseWell I would have given it 5 stars but it didn’t work out of the box. After many tries I found out that removing the 4 screws holding the case together it would work perfectly. I’m guessing that the top case was making the tft screen thinking it was being touched.
Having had this now for a few months. I would say it’s totally useless if you want it to work for more than just a few minutes. Very much simpler to use my array of other test equipment. Far too many issues with this one….

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice asset to the RF toolbox on the go.
Size Name: 4 InchVerified PurchaseFirst thing I want to say is that I see a lot of low rating reviews complaining that it lacks instructions. Although true, you can completely disregard the negative reviews which state this.
This is not a tool that you pick up and immediately know how to use it after reading a few pages of a manual. A tool like this is designed for people who know what they're looking at and what it is used for.
Sure, if you're a beginner it's really hard to make sense of how it works, but there's an abundance of youtube videos and forums to explain this stuff.
If the manufacturer needed to make a manual explaining every detail of its inner workings, the price wouldn't be as low as it is as it takes time and resources to make a decent manual.
If you know how to run these things, it's an absolute must have if you work with RF on the go. The display on this one is much nicer than the original NanoVNA-H and the hardware is much faster.
The RF cables that come with it are also a lot nicer than what came with the original NanoVNA-H.
If you have an android device and the app store says the app is too old for your version of android, just do some googling and find the .apk file and manually install it. I got it working with my Samsung S23.

works as it should that is why I gave it three stars.
Lets see how long it lasts, then, I may give more or even less stars, depending

5.0 out of 5 stars Great SWR for the money
Size Name: 4 InchVerified PurchaseI have read a little on these devices over the past few months, and decided that for ham radio use, if they worked as well as people seemed to think, the small size, internal battery etc. would make it ideal for field antenna work.
I really wasn't expecting that much at this price. However, it arrived in a nice looking box with fitted internal compartments for cables, connectors etc.
My first quick play with it impressed me. I was suspicious about using a square-wave and using harmonics for the higher ranges, but if you forgive the reduced measurement range, that actually works pretty well. Not as well as my bench VNA, but that cost just a tiny bit more. The biggest potential problem is the number of sample points. Being fixed at 101 points is rather limiting for wide-band scans. That said, its not that usual outside of microwave use that wide bandwidth scans are used/useful. If you really need that, there is software available (free) for Windows and Mac to control the nanoVNA, and with the ability to split the range into some number (you decide - how long you want to wait) of segments, and scan each segment individually, merging the results into a single view.
If I had to find fault, it would pretty much be with the external components:
* A guitar pick is better than a finger on that little screen, but a stylus would be better.
* There is only one 50ohm load, the proper calibration procedure requires two, although you *can* use just one.
* The open and short calibration loads are identical once connected or an adapter fitted. Marking these 'O' and 'S' would be useful.
* The box is too nice to toss away, but lacks space for additional adapters/connectors.
All that said, I highly recommend this for anyone wanting a VNA for sub-microwave use and not requiring ultra-precision. If you have never used this sort of equipment before there is a somewhat steep learning curve, and most documentation is either at too high a level for a lot of people, and assuming lots of basic knowledge, or really too low level and created by people that are maybe not really grasping what they are doing. I expect that problem to resolve fairly quickly.
As an antenna analyzer for ham radio use it blows most of those costing 10 or more times as much out of the water, and is useful for other things too (like tuning filters etc.).only using for SWR across multiple bands, but beats the price on buying multiple meters.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Antenna is KILLING IT!!
Size Name: 4 InchVerified PurchaseI bought the nanoVNA in order to tune a new 20-meter dipole antenna that I was installing. The antenna is the Radiowavz 20-DP11 with 1:1 balun. I was able to buy the preassembled antenna for about the same as it would have cost to buy the center insulator/balun and the #14 AWG copper clad steel antenna wire. It is a very well constructed antenna. Anyway - back to the nanaVNA - I got the antenna up about 40 to 50 feet in some big trees in my yard and took the first reading with the nanoVNA. My goal was to tune it for lowest SWR at 14.250 MHertz - the center SSB phone section of the 20-meter band. I built an Excel spreadsheet to calculate frequency vs. antenna leg length with an assumed velocity factor of 0.98. My first reading on the nanoVNA indicated that each leg was about 10-inches too long. I lowered the antenna and reduced each leg by about 8-inches - not by cutting them - but by twisting them back over the leg of the antenna. My second reading on the nanoVNA indicated that I was still about an inch too long so I lowered the antenna and folded back another inch. This time it read spot on with the lowest SWR of 1.28 at exactly 14.250-MHertz. So, lowered the antenna again and cut off several inches, twisted the rest back over the leg, secured with a couple of wire tires and taped it up good. I came back into the shack, fired up the rig and immediately contacted Italy, Bulgaria and Azores with a 59 signal report. I don't have an amplifier and only run 100-watts barefoot but I consistently get signal reports where the the contact is surprised that I'm not running 1000-watts into a beam antenna. The antenna works great across the entire 20-meter phone band and I have been surprised and delighted with the difference that a finely tuned resonant antenna makes vs a compromise antenna like my 160-meter G5RV. The nanoVNA apparently was spot on with helping me find the right length of my antenna. I decided to try this before in vesting in a $300 or $400 antenna analyzer and I'm glad I did. FYI - there is an excellent user manual available for the nanoVNA on the nanoVNA group on the groups.io conference board. 73 - K4IXO
