Operation

1. Adjust the eyepiece and diapbram, place the slide on the stage. Apply the 4X objective lens, and turn on the LED illumination.

2. Turn the coarse focus knob, until obtain a clear object image. (First using coarse focus find the object image, then adjust the fine focusing to get clearer image.)

3. Using the 4X objective find the object image, adjust it to the center of the field of view, then switch to 10X, 40X objective lens, with coarse and fine focusing, make the object image clearest and sharpest.

I am a high school science teacher with a degree in microbiology. I bought this to have fun at home with my kids (8&6). So far we have done moss safari. The video is using the 10x objective lens with the standard 25x eyepiece. It is perfect. The microscope itself is just like the plug in electric ones we use at school, just a little smaller. Quality is great, really well made. The coarse focus knob is a little stiff but the fine focus is fast enough to use instead. Changing the objective lenses is a little clunky, but I am not complaining given the price. Would recommend to my students and colleagues/friends.
