The 5L Lab Incubator from IVYX Scientific is a compact, versatile incubator which can precisely hold any temperature between 0 and 65°C (32 to 149°F).

Heats up to 65°C

This incubator can heat samples up to 65°C (149°F) while using only 46W at 220V. A temperature gradient is present inside the chamber: the temperature at the top shelf is higher than on the bottom shelf. Within each shelf, the temperature only fluctuates by 0.5°C.

Cools down to 0°C

It is able to cool down ~23°C below ambient temperature, using only 54W at 220V. While technically able to be set to -18°C, at normal room temperature it will go down to -3°C. A temperature gradient is present between the top and the bottom, but within each shelf, the temperature fluctuates by only 0.5°C

At only 4 kgs (9 lbs) this incubator is easy to move around. A 12V DC car power cord allows the unit to heat or cool your samples on the go.

    Large enough to fit a 15cm x 15cm x 25cm tall container for bulk fermentation.

    The temperature stated on the front is just a guide, don’t think of it as Centigrade. Use a thermometer to get accurate readings in the chamber and keep a record for reference later.

    Liked it so much, I bought the 25 L model as well.

    I set my ferments in the incubator to culture because it is too cold this time of year to start anything. I assumed it would work but upon opening it the next day it felt cooler than what I was expecting. I put a wireless thermometer inside with my culture and it was a full 4C lower than I set it. I considered setting it higher and working from there but by that point I had no way of diagnosing the problem. And for 160 pound it should work as described. 2 stars because the return was easy and it looks really nice. I can't say if I received a faulty appliance but I am not ordering a new one to find out.

    I ordered this because it was all that I could find to incubate my bacteriological water tests without spending too much. Thru reading reviews I realized it most likely would not be accurate. It’s not, but mine is exactly 4 deg C low. I need to test at 37 deg C so I have to operate this incubator at 41 deg C. Although off, it is consistently off so I set to 41 and roll. I do check it with a high quality digital HVAC meter regularly and it is consistent!
