This device does exactly what it says on the tin. In my case, that was to set it up as an ethernet to WiFi bridge to my main broadband router (that supplies our internet connectivity) for my Humax DTR-T1000 Youview box, which only has an ethernet network connection, as I wanted to move it to another room where there was no physical network connection. The instruction booklet that came with it covered all the options that this device was capable of and was fairly well written and easy to understand. Within a very short time, I managed to set the device up as bridge/repeater (but I also chose to suppress its associated hotspot that was also available) back to/for my main router (using my smartphone to connect to it initially) then rebooted the device to change its configuration. I finally unplugged it from the USB power connection I was using (just for power) and plugged both cables into the T1000's ethernet and USB ports on its rear. It immediately powered up and "voila!", internet connectivity wirelessly back to my broadband connection. Excellent device and great value for what it does. I can't recommend this highly enough for what it does. (see photo)

WiFi Router Mode
1. Wireless WiFi AP, plug and play, just plug the VAR11N-300 network cable into the router's optical cat interface/LAN port, and other wireless devices can connect to the VAR11N-300's WiFi to access the Internet.
2. Traditional router that can be used across network segments (the default is wireless AP mode, which requires manual switching)
WiFi Bridge Mode
Bridge mode can convert WiFi to RJ45(Ethernet) network or RJ45 to WiFi. Use the VAR11N-300 network cable to plug it into the computer's network port and then connect the computer to the Internet. The bridge function can realize the connection of wired devices with WiFi, which largely solves the problems of difficult wiring of wired devices.
WiFi Repeater Mode
Repeater mode can expand the existing network, at the edge of the original WiFi hotspot signal coverage, it can receive the weak WiFi signal and then boost it to the normal safe strength. Had a solar camera that can't store to my NAS. Wanted to use another PoE camera I had without needing to run ethernet.
Setup wasn't too bad, connect to computer via ethernet, go to URL, set mode to bridge, enter WiFi creds apply and reboot.
A minute later the camera was up and running.
Hopefully in relation to what others have mentioned, heat issues won't plague this setup.

Flashing led Lights are too bright and are not usable for astro imaging.
